For the past three days, the East Luwu Transportation Service and PT Citra Lampia Mandiri have conducted a KIR test for vehicles operating in the PT CLM nickel mining area.
This KIR test is to evaluate vehicles operating in the mining area whether they are in accordance with safety standards.
"For three days, we together with the management of PT CLM have carried out the KIR Test for vehicles operating in the CLM Mining area, this is to ensure whether the vehicles that have been operating so far are feasible or not operating in the mining area. This was said by the Head of the Transportation Agency, AR Salim, Thursday (23/06/2022).
According to AR Salim, there were hundreds of CLM mining operational vehicles that were inspected, from the physical condition of the vehicles and engines, they were still fit for use and new.
However, there are some that we suggest to be repaired immediately, such as the brake lights that are off, including the car lights, there are one or two vehicles that don't turn on.
"We recommend this to be repaired, for those who pass the KIR, we will immediately give the KIR Book." Says AR Salim.
External Manager of PT CLM, Idul Adha Muller, said the KIR test of mining operational vehicles is important to help companies obtain information about the condition of vehicles operating in the CLM mining area.
“One of our ways to minimize work accidents is to monitor and test KIR on all vehicles operating at the mine site. As a result, we will follow up on what the Department of Transportation has suggested." Said Eid al-Adha.
He continued, "In the future, PT. Citra Lampia Mandiri will continue to improve its ability in supervision and work safety in carrying out production activities and will continue to cooperate with the Transportation Agency of East Luwu Regency to carry out periodic inspections according to the SOP.
Eid al-Adha emphasized that in its operations, PT CLM currently prioritizes work safety, for that in addition to vehicles that are suitable for operation, workers at PT CLM must also comply with work safety standards that have been set by PT CLM.
In closing, Eid al-Adha Muller would like to thank the East Luwu Regency Government for participating in checking the feasibility of vehicles operating in the PT CLM IUP area.
