Heavy rainfall in recent days has hit East Luwu.
This makes PT. Citra Lampia Mandiri (CLM) is increasing its preparedness to face this bad weather. One of them is by making sure the Settling Pond is in good condition.
"We continue to work optimally in capturing all runoff water in the mining area to be processed at the Sediment Pond or Settling Pond before release occurs," said PT. CLM External, Eid al-Adha in a release, Thursday (21/04/2022).
According to him, based on routine monitoring carried out by the external team with Enviro PT.CLM, who is in charge, he saw that the settling pond was functioning properly.
"We have checked and this is done regularly because indeed we have seen the intensity of the rain increase in the last few days but indeed from the beginning our enviro team has technically prepared our Settling pond readiness," he added.
"Even a few months ago when the rainfall increased, we accompanied the chairman of the DPRD to directly inspect this settling pond. And now before entering the peak of the rainy season this year, so earlier we checked that there was no problem with our settling pond," he said again.
The runoff water, he continued, in the mining area has been caught and filtered properly before being released to the Sub-watershed where the water that comes out of the settling pond is in accordance with environmental quality standards. (*)
